Rich color is the spice of life, visually, but in my opinion a beautiful black & white photograph feeds the soul. Color is a very strong, very present element in any work of art, but in its absence you are left with shadow, light, and emotion. This makes for a powerful statement…and when there is emotion in a portrait, something I strive for with every subject, it will blossom without the “distraction” of color.
