muse: matt barter’s harvesters

Maine painter and found object sculptor extraordinaire, Matt Barter, is always brimming with inspiration and incredibly unique ideas. Even his idea sketch books are museum-worthy art. In 2015 we collaborated on a performance art concept borne of his annual art show that year, “Harvesters.” The concept that Matt brought to fruition revolves around the question, what would lunar farming look like, with a healthy dose of modern consumerism? We met one summer evening in an oddly quiet field not far outside of Portland, Maine, with another Maine artist, @artbrik, to bring Matt’s vision to life. Here are the results….
